Little mermaid vibes 🫧

Yesterday I saw The Little Mermaid for the second time and I love it even more than the first time. Ariel is my favorite princess and I grew up obsessively watching it as a kid because I wanted to be a mermaid so badly!

I love all the subtle changes they have made in the movie as well. Here is a list of 12 things I’ve noticed. I’ve noticed more but I don’t want to post too many spoilers!

✨SPOILERS✨

🐚Ariel pets Max and helps Max to the rescue boat
🐚 Jodie Benson does a cameo and “passes the wand” to the next Ariel
🐚They added consent into “Kiss the Girl” by putting the line “use your words boy and ASK her”
🐚Ursula is Triton’s sister
🐚They removed the body language verse from Ursula’s song
🐚Eric is adopted as a boat victim refugee
🐚 Eric loves collecting trinkets like Ariel
🐚Eric learns Ariel’s name by ways of the constellations
🐚Ursula adds some ✨extra✨ to the spell
🐚 Ursula is an octopus and not just a squid
🐚 Ariel is the one to ram the boat into Ursula!
🐚 Ariel takes the necklace back from Ursula herself vs Scuttle

Come along with my family as we see an advanced screening of The Little Mermaid!

Ariel is my favorite princess so I had some pretty high expectations going into this. I own a lot of Ariel Disneybounds but ultimately decided on this super cute @uniquevintage dress paired with my Danielle Nicole flounder purse and purple @skechers.

This was our first time attending a movie at @cinepolisusa and I loved that they had a full menu that got delivered right to your seat.

We made this a date with our daughter so we could have some one on one time with her without Hudson. The movie blew me ✨away✨. From the colors to the graphics to the humor, I was mesmerized. I loved that they added songs and scenes to really connect you to Ariel and Eric’s courtship. You could easily see them falling in love on camera. Everything looked so real underwater, @disneystudios truly put so much effort into every detail from the reflection of water on their skin, to hair flowing, to itty bitty bubbles!

This movie for me was a solid 10/10. I highly recommend it and will be seeing it again later this week!

If you have young children, the scene with Ursula at the end can be a little frightening so just a heads up!
